Halo Reddit Server Temporarily Locked Down Due To Negativity

The popular Halo subreddit has just been temporarily shut down by its mods in response to toxic negativity surrounding the launch of Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer. Reception of the long-awaited free-to-play multiplayer component of the game has been somewhat mixed, forcing developer 343 Industries to adjust Halo Infinite progression over the past few weeks. While many fans are welcoming these changes and improvements, others feel that the studio isn’t doing enough to deliver a worthy multiplayer experience. Halo Infinite requires players to complete randomized daily challenges tied to certain game modes and strategies. Since players currently have no control over what game mode they are placed in, this model has led to issues like empty Halo Infinite matches as gamers shuffle through the playlist in an effort to earn XP.

Battlefield 2042 Sales Reportedly Off to Strong Start

Ever since its release last month, the latest entry in the Battlefield series has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Battlefield 2042 is considered to be one of the most disappointing games of the year and it quickly became one of the worst reviewed titles on Steam. Players have reported all sorts of issues with the game, including numerous bugs and missing features. Despite this, it seems like Battlefield 2042 did sell an impressive number of copies in its first week, if a well-known Battlefield leaker is to be believed.

Insider Tom Henderson states that Battlefield 2042 sold around 4.23 million units in its first week, just shy of Battlefield 3 which achieved 4.68 million in the same time frame. It’s unclear where this data is coming from exactly, so fans should treat it with a grain of salt. Henderson also lists the first week sales figures of other games in the series. Battlefield 4 comes next with 2.59 million, with Hardline also attaining a figure of 1.48 million units.

Battlefield: Bad Company is ranked lowest with 0.44 million, although the franchise was not as popular back then. Bad Company was also only released for PS3 and Xbox 360, but fans on PC did get to play its sequel Bad Company 2. These listed sales figures for Battlefield 2042 perhaps do not come as a surprise to anyone that has been following the hype in the lead up to its launch. All of the pre-release trailers were impressive, and Battlefield 2042 likely owes its commercial success to the marketing team.

CD Projekt Red announces a “major update” and new DLC expansion for Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 will see a major update early next year, and a DLC expansion is in development.

Yesterday on November 29, CD Projekt Red leadership posted a press release to mark the end of the third quarter of the fiscal 2021/22 year. In the press release, it’s stated by the studio’s management that a “major update for all platforms” is deep in development for Cyberpunk 2077, and should launch within the first three months of the fiscal 2022/23 year. This would mean the big new update for Cyberpunk 2077 is primed to arrive at some point between March and May 2022.

Additionally, the new update will launch alongside the new-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, the new press release from the CD Projekt Red leadership reveals after the version was delayed out of a 2021 launch.

Sea of Thieves What’s Coming in Season 5

Developer Rare previously teased that pirates may have figured out how to bury their treasure, and we now know it’s certainly one of the features introduced in Season 5.

Burying treasures then creates a treasure map that you can use to dig it up later. On top of that, you can also post the treasure map on the new quest board, found on Seaposts and Outposts.

This challenges others to dig up your treasure. Should they succeed, you’ll earn the reputation you normally would have obtained by cashing it in alongside additional Renown.

Sea of Thieves Season 5 lets you celebrate, light up islands, or point out danger using fireworks and flares. You can also sit, sleep, and see your character’s mouth moving when talking in-game.

If you want to be stealthy and whisper your plans instead of loudly proclaiming them for all to hear, you can turn you speaking trumpet around to do just that.

Sea of Thieves Season 5 also adds cannon rowboats, which you can use both as extra firepower when attached to your ship or as nimble attackers on their own.

100 levels’ worth of new rewards can be unlocked using Renown and additional goodies are also available via a new premium Plunder Pass.

You can get a better idea of all the content that becomes available when Sea of Thieves’ Season 5 release date comes around in the video below and by checking out the full patch notes on the game’s official website.
