Baghdad is apparently where the upcoming Assassin's Creed game will take place.

According to a recent claim, Baghdad will serve as the setting for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game.

These assertions originate from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who responded to the idea that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game is set in the time of the Aztecs by commenting on a Reddit post(opens in new tab). Instead, it was disclosed in Schreier’s response that “the next AC game is Rift, which is set in Baghdad.”

Although Ubisoft has not yet verified this, it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise if it were the truth. You may already be familiar with Basim, a guy who truly grew up in Baghdad, if you’ve played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This assertion has a lot going for it given that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, code-named “Rift,” reportedly began as a Valhalla expansion. Even though AC Infinity will have a variety of different games, experiences, biomes, and other things, according to what I’ve heard about the major two, neither of them are Aztec, Schreier also said in the same comment about Ubisoft’s stealth game.

Besides what has already been stated, not much else is known about “Rift” or “Infinity.” We do, however, know that Ubisoft will have another online event in September to reveal “the future of Assassin’s Creed,” so perhaps this is the time when we will finally learn more about these enigmatic projects.

In unrelated Assassin’s Creed news, Ubisoft recently disclosed that 15 of its titles would have their online servers disabled. There are various classic Ubisoft games included in this, as well as Assassin’s Creed 2, 3, Brotherhood, Liberation HD, and Revelations.
