In 2023, E3 will return to Los Angeles.

The ESA has announced that it will work with ReedPop to put on E3 2023, which will be run by a new group. ReedPop is most known for organizing huge enthusiast gatherings like PAX, the Star Wars Celebration, and other events. ReedPop, who views E3 as a “tremendous honor and privilege,” has pledged to put on a “world-class show” in 2023.

With the arrival of the Summer Game Fest and numerous other digital gaming events that now take place in June, there are going to be issues concerning E3 during the course of the coming year, such as where E3 fits in the current landscape of video game conventions. As a discussion about whether the conference was losing its focus and purpose began long before the outbreak, there are also doubts about whether E3 itself functions as a separate event. Few would contest that there is a lack of a central time and event, despite how valuable the discussion surrounding E3 has been over the years. The Microsoft and Bethesda Games Showcase and other independent presentations are definitely thrilling on their own, but grouping the presentations across a number of days elevated the experience in a way that isn’t typically seen in the gaming sector. Although it’s not required, E3 is possibly the only event now attempting to provide that experience.

Not all publishers will attend E3 in 2023, even though the festival will be back in that year. A few instances of publishers that have cut ties with E3 in the past include Electronic Arts and PlayStation. As publishers continue to prioritize their own digital events, E3 might potentially lose more partners for 2023. Whatever the case, it will be intriguing to watch what occurs with E3 2023 in the upcoming year.
