Microsoft Has Initiated More Than 10,000 Layoffs Across All Their Business Lines
According to reports, the European Commission will continue to oppose Microsoft's $68.7 billion Activision Blizzard King merger. In the upcoming weeks, Microsoft will receive a declaration of complaints from the European Commission. Despite Microsoft's efforts to allay its worries, the European Commission nonetheless feels the need to express its complaints. The mission of Microsoft is still to "deliver more games to more people."
More than 10,000 layoffs have tragically been initiated by Microsoft, affecting workers at several Xbox Game Studios, including The Coalition (Gears of War and a new IP), Bethesda (Starfield), and 343 Industries (Halo Infinite). This depressing information was released precisely one year after Microsoft announced their agreement to purchase Activision Blizzard. According to a Halo insider, 343 Industries has reduced its personnel by one-third and will no longer be "actively developing" any new story campaigns.
Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, asserted that these modifications were brought on by the continuing recession and a slowdown in digital consumer expenditure. Last year, he received a total remuneration of around $55 million.
