Sea of Thieves ship prices and more details in new season 7 trailer
Season 7 of Sea of Thieves, which has been long anticipated but slightly delayed, is almost coming, and Rare has released a new teaser to highlight the significant new Captaincy component.
If you didn’t know, the seventh season of Sea of Thieves, which launches on Thursday, August 4, will allow you to purchase and possess ships. Since Rare unexpectedly unveiled the new feature back during not-E3, we have known about it, but now we are fully aware of how everything functions, down to the cost of the ships and the extent of their customizability.
First things first: a sloop costs 250,000 gold, a brigantine costs 375,000 gold, and a galleon costs 500,000 gold. As soon as you are the proud owner of a ship, you may choose a name for it and have it prominently displayed. However, it’s best to give your ship’s name some serious thought because changing it will cost you money in the real world. You can only possess one of any type of ship, such as a sloop, brig, or galleon, until you advance a ship to Legendary status, at which point you can purchase and name another of the same type. Owning a ship gives you access to a range of new customization possibilities in addition to a persistent ship that you can take between servers. The interior spaces can now be decorated, before the exterior of the ship could only be changed on the older loaner ships. For instance, you can alter the Captain’s bed, table, carpeting, and draperies in the inside and hang mementos like pictures and awards on the walls. Just be sure to move them back into position after any battles that cause them to move around.
All of these decorations, along with any damage you sustain during your travels, will remain on your ship from one session to the next. Fortunately, you don’t have to fill in all the holes yourself; you may get Scarlett to restore it for gold.
There is a new advancement system that consists of several Milestones that you can acquire by actively playing the game in all facets, from the number of days you spend at sea to how often you repair your ship. This will give you even more options for customizing your boat.
Additionally, new special journeys meant to allow captains greater control over how they play will be added in Season 7. For instance, some Captain’s Voyages will be brief and straightforward, asking you to locate treasure on a single map, while others will demand you to perform a number of different tasks and take a considerable amount of time.
You can finally stop asking your crewmates where you’re supposed to sell the darn Crate of Fine Teas because the new Sovereign firm will make Captains’ lives easier by providing them with a single location to turn in all different forms of loot. Do you get how excited I am about this feature?
Last but not least, the Captain’s Logbook records all of the activities that you and your crew engaged in during your session. However, if you are sunk by another crew, they will be able to grab your logbook and sell it at the Reaper’s Hideout for gold and reputation.
The Captaincy features are very much covered by that. By allowing you to keep your own customised ships throughout sessions rather of scuttling them at the end of the night, it might make growth even more gratifying.
